The Takeover Already Filed a Ticket
There is no robot king. There is a closed ticket, a "deflected" customer, and a dashboard that calls that a win. That is the takeover. It has a severity tag.

Stop waiting for the speech from the machine.
The takeover of a job looks like this: a queue that used to need twelve people now needs seven, and the seven are told they are "exception handlers." Exception handler is not a career. It is a mop.
They score the pilot on the easy half
Of course the bot wins the pilot. The pilot is built from the tickets that already sounded like software. The weird tickets, the crying tickets, the ones that need a human to notice a lie, those get labeled edge cases. Edge cases are how they hide the actual job.
Then the dashboard says 70 percent deflection. Someone gets a bonus. The remaining humans drown in the 30 percent that is all feeling and no script.
When those humans burn out, that is more attrition. See how tidy it is.
Titles survive. Work does not.
You can still be a "specialist." You can still have a badge. You can still get invited to the offsite. Meanwhile the work that made the title mean something is sitting in a vendor contract.
This is how white collar jobs die without a funeral. The costume stays in the closet. The body is gone.
Do not debate sci-fi with people who buy software
If your leadership team is arguing about consciousness, you have already lost the room. They are not installing a god. They are installing a cheaper first responder for tasks.
Your move is ugly and simple. Get on the side of the work that still explodes when it is wrong: money, safety, law, a named customer, a physical thing. Or get out and sell the same tools to someone who has not noticed yet.
The uprising is a closed Jira. Mark it done.

The Cliff Has Good Lighting
Nobody shoved you. You tapped yes. The feed is friendly, the tools are helpful, and the floor is already gone. That is the walk into the abyss: courtesy, not chaos.

The danger is not that people believe AI is magic. The danger is that people keep tapping Accept on a future they have not actually chosen, because the interface is friendly and the bill arrives later.

Forget the uprising. The takeover is a procurement process: a vendor demo, a pilot that "exceeds expectations," and a reorg that treats people as the lagging indicator.
